Do you think the Columbine shootings is one of the results of prayer taken out of school?

Saw your question and had to answer.

Prayer has been removed from schools since the 1960's.

It was replaced with a "moment of silence."

Incidences like Columbine and 9/11 prompt those who pray, to pray more.

Do you need personal prayer?

God bless.

Do you think the Columbine shootings is one of the results of prayer taken out of school?
No. If you look at the statistics, school violence has actually gone DOWN since the 80's when it was decided that teachers could no longer lead prayers.

Prayer was never taken out of school. You can pray all you want as long as you don't force anyone else to participate or interrupt class time to do it. And in the specific case of Columbine, those shooters didn't seem like the type to really care that they couldn't make everyone else pray with them.

EDIT: From this question and your other question, it sounds like your teacher has already come to a conclusion - and he/she has reached the wrong one. Actually do some research, look at the numbers. And don't quote that 'she said yes' book - it's bullshit. The other students in the room say it never happened.
Reply:While it may play a part, I blame the parents who don't keep a careful eye on their kids--too many treat teenagers like grown-ups; which they aren't ,despite their loud protests. They didn't have a clue that their kids were unpopular, loners, or unhappy?Too many parents abdicate their responsibility.

Society interferes with parental discipline when parents do try--kids lie, authorities get involved, chaos ensues.

Too many people have religion in their lives twice a year: Christmas and Easter. While better than nothing, the lessons on those holidays have very little to do with the day-to-day application of morals, virtue, and self-discipline that other lessons do. Yet, people will insist that they are "spiritual" even though they have very little knowledge or understanding of the hundreds of lessons, parables and examples of Christian ethics in the Bible.
Reply:are you demented?...that had NOTHING to do with prayer in school...that was simply a case of a negligent administration dealing with problem students that they knew to be dangerous and possibly violent...you should do some more research because columbine had one of the largest student based faith organizations in the country at the time which was run by students, so they were praying on a daily basis...not that it did them any good...
Reply:Nah

I go to public school

and we had a moment of slience

for the vt and columbine shooting

we do every year.
Reply:No. You are a hyper conservative super Christian who needs to stay the hell out of schools. Christ!
