Question about Columbine flowers?

I know Columbines take a long time to germinate, but how quickly do they grow once they sprout? Within just the past few days I noticed the first two Columbine sprouts, and I'm wondering how long it takes them to mature and start blooming.

Question about Columbine flowers?
It depends on where you live, how long your summer weather lasts. If you live in coastal CA you can have flowers by next summer. If you live in northern MN you might have to wait for 2 summers to pass before they bloom. Most will grow thru one summer and flower the next year. If you have a plant that is well adapted to your climate it can live for many years and will have increasing number of flowers every year. Columbine are not long lived, 5 years is about the maximum for most on average. Some longer others shorter. Try and start a few every year to keep the colony going. Good luck, they are very charming plants, even without flowers they have a pleasant looking foliage.
Reply:Be patient. It doesn't take that long. And let some go to seed and sprinkle them in the garden and you will have plenty the next year. Depending on what genus they are, they will probably come back true to what they where this year.
