Would sterilization of stupid adults be better than gun control legislation for Columbine-type problems?

The parent actually bought weapons for her emotionally deranged teen:

I believe the best step to prevent such violence in school is to install socialization programs that teach how to deal with social situations. This violence is the result of such people feeling frustrated, powerless and clueless in their every day lives on how to deal with people and the system that governs our behavior (this situation, the schools.)

To put your self in a similar situation, imagine how many times people did some thing that frustrated you and you did not know how to handle it. Did you feel like hurting them something bad?

Political science, persuasion, history and how it relates to our current lives, diplomacy, social science and psychology and how to use it in our every days lives may be the step to the right direction. When people know how to get what they want or handle people in a more realistic way then just simple ignoring them (the advice many people have when it comes to dealing with difficult people, which does not work.) such aggression tends to disappear.
Reply:Since I work criminal cases all over the country, I have a feeling my logic skills are just fine, and you need to stop believing everything you read. Report It

Reply:I am for complete gun control for citizens, but I think this would be a reasonable compromise. When I saw this on the news I was disgusted at this parent. How many more times does this have to happen before the US wakes the **** up.
Reply:I think the definition of "stupid" would qualify way too many people.

The article is misleading.. it says mom purchased some of the "weapons". She could have purchased the two inert grenades. I suspect the media left which items on purpose just to create controversy.
Reply:The predicted increase in crime that everyone was saying would be doomsday for America never happened. After some study the actual decline in the crime rate was attributed to making abortion legal. It seems that allowing the underprivileged, poor, and incapable to choose not to carry their pregnancies to term had a positive effect on society. The debate on whether this is a moral choice still wages on, however...
Reply:Sure... sterilization determined by those that feel they know better about everything. Why stop there? Sterilize all conservatives that believe in God. Sterilize all liberals that believe 9/11 was an inside job. Sterilize everyone who is against government sponsored health care. Sterilize anyone who thinks illegal immigrants should be sent back to their own country. Sterilize anyone in favor of the 2nd amendment. Sterilize anyone who works in the military industrial complex. Sterilize everyone who does not drive a hybrid car. Sterilize everyone that doesn't believe that global warming is going to kill us all.

Get the point? Judge not..
Reply:yes,i am for a sterilization program and especially people in prisons for serious crimes
Reply:Did you actually read this article??? It says the mother may have purchased some of those items... doesn't say which ones, doesn't say they were for the kid.

Right now I'm thinking you'd qualify for that program you're advocating. Media loves people like you.... baaaa, baaa.
Reply:How is sterilization going to help? All you would get is suicidal gun crazies who wouldn't be able to make babies if they didn't die of gunshot wounds.
Reply:How about neither of these choices.
