Bowling For Columbine Movie Help?
You're not going to learn anything from the film if you don't watch it. Go on down to Blockbuster and rent it!
Reply:You've never seen "Bowling for Columbine"? You should rent it.... you will be amazed at how powerful it is but I can appreciate being in a bind so...
The Michigan Militia are self-armed, trained and appointed protectors of themselves and their state. They are heavily armed and trained. It promotes violence for a lot of reasons, they are armed, they have children around the guns, they honestly think they are doing everyone a service, they would shoot you first and ask questions later. They take the law into their own hands because they feel like the Police and state have failed to provide adequate provisions to do so. Also Timothy McVeigh was part of the Michigan Militia.
The US has contributed to violence all throughout the world by starting wars without being attacked, they have organized coups in several countries to overthrow leaders democratically elected by their citizens in favor of leaders that will cooperate with American objectives. There are a lot of reasons that I would guess you are American if you really have no clue about what happens everywhere else.
The media breeds a culture of fear through their monopolistic, biased and sensationalist reporting of the news. They are ambulance chasers funded by advertising money from big corporations. Look for alternative media sources for the truth.... you will be surprised. The media and the people don't seem to be interested in the good stuff that happens... just the violent and bad.
Influences on deviance? That I can think of.... Lockheed Martin... the defense contractor where the parents of Columbine students work making rockets that murder civilians. The violent past that the US has.... genocide of the Native American people glorified by the portrayal of the cowboy or the torture, kidnapping and atrocities that occurred during slavery which has lead to a situation now worse than apartheid South Africa with segregation, slums, inequality, etc.
I didn't learn anything from the film because I knew most of it before hand.... I read books and I'm guessing all of this is news to you so take your pick. Keep in mind I haven't seen this movie in a couple of years but it's not a movie that will easily let go. I really hope you watch this and any other Michael Moore film... if you don't how are you going to know if I just fed you a bunch of crap or not?
Reply:why don't you just see the movie? you'll like it, seriously. don't expect people to do all your work for you for the rest of your life
