The Vtech shooter was on antidepressants, so were the Columbine shooters. Does this tell u anything ?

This guy was on anti depressants. The Columbine kids were on anti depressants. Pittman(killed his grandparents at 12) was on Zoloft. When are you people going to realize what drug companies are doing to your kids? America is a drug nation. Politicans pander to drug companies cause drug companies are the ones who have the $$$.

Keep drugging your kids America and watch more of these incidents happen. Who cares if scientists arent completely sure how these drugs work on the body. At least it appeases the massess.

Why do Americans allow themselves to be peddled by these drug companies 24/7 ?

The Vtech shooter was on antidepressants, so were the Columbine shooters. Does this tell u anything ?
Did you ever think that the reason they were on the drugs is what drove them to kill people? People take antidepressants because they're depressed. If the drugs aren't working for them (not all drugs work for all people) then they're still depressed. So their depression would be a factor in their decisions, not the anti-depressants. Do you have any research to back up your claims about drugs being harmful to people or "causing" them to make bad decisions?
Reply:I agree with pinkluxe 100%. Not only do these drugs not work like they should on some people, they seem to have the opposite effect.

Part of the problem lies with the prescribing physician. I don't think anyone should be given these drugs unless they are part of counseling and closely monitored. Many times they will be prescribed and there is no follow up whatsoever.

I took Wellbutrin to quit smoking. I was fine for two weeks, then I developed a mood that I can only describe as black. I felt like I hated everyone and everything. I quit taking them and things got back to normal.

About a year later, I tried taking them again. Again, fine for two weeks and then black moods again.

I won't ever take them again, nor any other antidepressant drug.

Our culture has been led to believe that we can pop a pill and all of our problems will magically go away. We live in a culture that wants instant gratification.

Drugs of any kind have never been an answer to the problems of life. Drugs are drugs, whether it is pot, alcohol, illegal or prescription drugs.
Reply:actualy it tells me tht the drugs they were taking were placibos, harmless drugs tht dont rly work...
Reply:you know someone that goes out and murder thirty -two people because he on anti-depressants how many people are on these drugs. alot of people need this and you blaming the killings on this.. sorry dont go for it to me its plain evil that does this, thank God everyone that is on anti-depressants are not killers.......i believe in my heart that for someone to kill another human that way has to be evil.....
Reply:It's so common that these drugs have the opposite effect on people than what's intended.

A friend of mine's mother killed herself a few years ago. She had started taking wellbutrin. It didn't do what the doctors thought it would do...obviously.

Maybe doctors are so quick to write out a prescription that they don't realize when it's something more than a chemical imbalance. Some people actually need to be evaluated, they need therapy. They don't need some drug that should do the trick. I started taking an anti-depressant a few months back and it turned me into a loose canon. I am very aware of myself and how I act, so naturally I realized what was going on and immediately got off of it.

You are right, we are so gung-ho on popping pills that we haven't really stopped to realize that this stuff could be poisoning us. It can start so young, with 5 year olds that have ADD/ADHD. Is it really any surprise that it seems so normal to result to pills the moment we have a bad feeling cross through our minds? Whatever happened to working through your problems on your own? Can this many people really be crazy?

EDIT: In response to a comment here, I would like to add something. People obviously do get on these drugs because of their existing feelings. But those drugs can intensify those feelings so much that it drives the person do to something that they wouldn't have when they were simply depressed. Just look at the side effects on some of these...may cause suicidal thoughts...come on! Of course it's possible for these drugs to not only NOT work but to make things a million times worse than they were.
