Why did Columbine happen?

I'm just curious to hear other peoples point of view and opinion.

Why did Columbine happen?
Hard to say... but I think it was a combination of lack of parenting, kids at school not telling information and teachers/counselors not taking action or being involved in these kids lives. Most of the kids who are involved in school shootings show signs ahead of time and I think the parent/guardian/teacher/counselor should have seen the signs but did not because they were too busy or were not involved in there kids lives.

Unfortunately these kids were already sick before they were picked on. People can say why as many times as they would like but no one really knows what makes these kids act this way or snap.

I think the key to prevention is everyone being more involved/caring with kids. Also watching more closely for kids who show the signs and taking action.
Reply:Because murder is a part of human nature. We don't like to admit it, but we all, deep down, like power. Murder brings one power. Of course, I get off just by making lots of money... easier way to get power %26amp; you don't go to jail for it.
Reply:pushed to their limits.............

the need to belong is strong for children....even if it means belonging to a group that is all screwed up.....

their personal limits were tilted due to their social and financial circumstances

this is a prime example why we need teachers and qualified personnel to carry

a skilled person could have stopped the massacre with several well placed rounds
Reply:Because they wen't bowling!!!! Hey, why not?
Reply:Kids damaged by their environment, allowed to be further abused by their classmates, able to get their hands on rapid-fire weaponry.

If they had been helped to heal, or had been rescued from torment by their peers, or hadn't been able to get rapid-fire weaponry, it wouldn't have happened.
